Safeguarding

Woodlands School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We believe that all children have the right to be safe and well cared for.  We feel that supporting parents is vital in this.

Staff, governors and volunteers are all given regular training and clear protocols to follow when they suspect a child may be experiencing abuse or may be at risk of harm. We will work co-operatively with other agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is:

  • Sarah Smith (Senior Leadership Team)

Our Deputy DSLs are:

  • Rosie Clark (Senior Leadership Team)
  • Lorna Banfield (Senior Leadership Team)
  • Katie Bedford (Senior Leadership Team)
  • Nicola Sutehall (Parent Support Advisor)

The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding is Mary Fawcett and she can be contacted at the following email address: clerk@woodlands.surrey.sch.uk.

We will review our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy and procedures on an annual basis. Our policy can be viewed on our policies page, or by request through the school office for a hard copy.
