Safeguarding

Woodlands School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We believe that all children have the right to be safe and well cared for.  We feel that supporting parents is vital in this.

Staff and volunteers are all given regular training and clear protocols to follow when they suspect a child may be experiencing abuse or may be at risk of harm. We will work co-operatively with other agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is:

  • Rosie Clark (Head Teacher)

Our Deputy DSLs are:

  • Sarah Smith (Deputy Headteacher)
  • Bren Holton (Parent Support Advisor)
  • Donna Scivier (WACKY and Holiday Club DSL)

The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding is Karen Thomas and she can be contacted at the following email address: clerk@woodlands.surrey.sch.uk.

We will review our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy and procedures on an annual basis. Our policy can be viewed on our policies page, or by request through the school office for a hard copy.
